1960's - Nursery employee during high school. Landscape design.
1970's - BS degrees in Biology and Mathematics. Quality control in chemistry and botany. Bartending and restaurant management.
1980's - Developed a passion for cooking; became a foodie. Began homebrewing and chili cookoff competing.
1990's - Joined a community garden, becoming President of the Manhattan Beach California Community Garden Association, designing and installing gardens in the local elementary schools, (pictured here), and teaching nutrition.
2014 - Retired in Arizona, started my organic garden, growing food, herbs,and hops for my homebrews.
This website, and my culinary passions, have been inspired by the confluence of two books: The Drunken Botanist, by Amy Stewart, and The Third Plate, by Dan Barber.
If there is something that you can't find, I'll be pleased to grow it for you!

The herbs lend exciting flavors to cocktails, as well.
